| Today was a sad eventful day for me. Today I watched as my friends, who are my family here at fort Polk, got on a bus to leave for war. I miss them already and am thinking about them. For anyone who reads this please rmember them, their safety and courage and leadership in your prayers as I will be. I love you guys and will be here when you return lest I be at war myself! | | |
| Well I certainly have been gone for some time. I spent the last week of april and all of may in a leadership development class called the 'Warrior Leaders Course' that teaches you about being a Non Commissionedofficer and a leader. I learned basic combat movements as well as how to counsel and train soldiers below me. It was a long painful 30 days but in the end I think is worth the sacrifice as I believe I will be a more capable leader when that time comes. During it I didn't have any access to the computer which is why I didn't post. I had a good memorial day weekend that I spent with my father, brother (Scott) as well as some of the family friends in Arkansas fishing. It was a nice and much needed escape from the Fort Polk area. I now only have about four weeks before I get to go home for about 13 days of leave to Kansas City to see my friends and family whom I miss dearly. | | |
| Alas a month has gone by as my diligence has watched from the wayside. I have looked at the page many a time and told myself that I needed to do something but have simply looked on. Life is going on as it has before, it isn't any more exciting or dull. I do enjoy my current job though, it has been a nice change to a less stressful environment. I am loking forward to easter weekend as I get to go up to deleware to visit Jo and from there we are going to go up to Pennsylvania to visit my gradmother and my auntes and uncles. Uber excited about that. This week has been a bit of a downer, I was struck with the flu on monday and had to go to the hospital monday night but am feeling almost back to normal now. Its been a while since I have felt that crappy but fortunately it passed by pretty quick. Thats about all the news from here, hope to have more with confirmation not to long from now. | | |
| Well everybody, it has been a long while since I have posted last. The reasons? The last two and a half weeks or so have been two of the craziest and most stressful two and a half weeks of my military 'career'. I have had three different jobs in three different companies during that time with a lot of un-known variables and vertually no clarity over what was going on. One day I got to work and it is a normal day, by the end of the day I am alerted that i am deploying and I beging the crazy confused craze to prepare for deployment goint to ranges, and readiness programs and packing and then all of a sudden I am no longer going but am moving to another job driving my brigade CSM. All of that and I also get sick a week ago which just simply doesn't want to let up and continuously is bugging me and seemingly getting worse. The good news is that I was still able to go see Joliene this weekend on my fourday pass which was very very nice and much needed. She is such a beautiful and wonderful woman, I am truly lucky. During our time together we managed to get some shopping in and found an engagement/wedding ring set that we both really liked and is very beautiful. So that should be my last big purchase for the rest of the year....lol..hopefully. That is hopefully all for a little bit, I don't need anymore big changes or anything of that sort for a minute. much love to everybody | | |
| So its been an interesting last week. Halfway through last week I found out that I was being moved to a new job. I have been taken offline from 51st, the job that I have had for the last 2 years almost to the Command Sergeant Major's new driver. My new job is simply to hang out at Battalion and help one of the shops there while I wait to drive him around when he needs to go somewhere. I have to say that it is really nice, I miss being around my friends and helping them and helping teach the new people that come into the company but it is so much more relaxed and stress free. My last job was so stressful and frustrating sometimes to the point that i wasn't sleeping well and didn't feel well sometimes but now I don't have to deal with that, at least at a very minimal state anyways. So thats whats new with me, it is pretty exciting and definitely is a good change. | | |
